You like camping in the jungles of Uganda, having a good time with nature, and engaging in adventurous activities. But you fear the night stay-you cannot take a nap conveniently or sporadically wake up in the middle of the night when in the tent. Many campers have gone through such a hard time, especially the novice. However, with time, a few changes, and getting the ideal sleeping kit, you will sleep as though you are in a luxury lodge.
Below are the applicable ways to sleep easier while camping in Uganda
Select a calm area to lodge the tent
Where you set up your camp influences your comfort while sleeping, particularly if you are sensitive to substantial distress. Get an even smooth spot, the one with some grass. Ensure thorough cleaning to remove the stones, thrones, and twigs that may discomfort you and damage your tent. Try to lie down and roll around to assess the comfort of the place.
Lodge your tent close to the washrooms and showers to access them if need be and ensure to keep away from potentially noisy neighbors.
Carry a good quality sleeping bag
One of the ways to have a great night’s stay at your camp is to pack a proper sleeping bag. It is significant to carry a sleeping bag ideal for the season and climate of the destination to ensure that you are warm when needed or not too warm when the temperatures are up.
Get a comfy camping pillow
You may have gotten warmth, but are you comfortable? Are your neck and head well positioned? You can pack small pillows suitable for tent sleeping. It must be light remember airlines are so cautious about the weight of your luggage. And also, a large pillow could take up so much space in your luggage. Carry a small and light pillow for better sleep in the tent. An inflatable camping pillow is recommended to pack.
Bring Earplugs
The jungles can be loud at night, and sounds of animals and birds are experienced from all corners plus those from your noisy neighbors. So, if you are familiar with sleeping in an extremely silent place, the wilderness of Uganda won’t render you that. To beat all the noise, you are advised to pack earplugs. These devices block external noise hence having a silent sleep.
Keep bugs and insects away
You cannot have a comfortable night with frequent buzzing in your ears or if you have to be scratching yourself due to insect bites. Pack and spray insecticides like lavender, montein doom, and citronella around your campsite. For extra protection, carry a mosquito net.
For comfortable sleep and night during your camping in Uganda, follow the above tips.
