There is a conundrum among travelers of whether it is cheaper to rent a car for a week or per day. Rental companies in Uganda attract clients by offering discounts to those who wish to hire vehicles for a long period. This trick or act has led travelers to pose the question “is it cheaper to rent a car for a week or per day?”. We are here to offer some answers to the travelers.
Renting a car has become popular in Uganda due to the frequent travel made by people around the country. Travelers want a transport option that is convenient, private, and safe like car rental services. However, renting a car does not come cheap. The rates of car hire in Uganda are lofty because most people in Uganda have a perception that car rental services are for international travelers.
The rental operators are trying to erase the negative perception of rental services only appealing to international clients by coming up with tricks of offering car rental discounts to tap into the much-needed local market. One of the tricks is hiring vehicles at attractive rates for clients who wish to travel for longer days.
The long rental reservation discount has made travelers ask whether it is cheaper to rent a car for a week or per day. To some extent, it is cheaper to hire a vehicle for a week than a day. first and foremost, the per day rate charged for a client who hires a car for a week or more is lower than the rate slapped at a client who rents for a few days. For example, as Car Rental in Uganda, we have a policy of hiring a Toyota Rav4 at 40$ per day for a week or more reservations as opposed to 50$ per day for short-term reservations.
It is important to note that even if long-term or weekly car rental reservation comes with a reduced rate, travelers must be wise enough to consider their travel itinerary. They should not go for long-term reservations under the guise of getting cheaper rental rates yet their travel purposes and engagements can be covered in a few days. Remember, the more travel days, the more car rental costs the travelers are likely to incur. It would be irrational for any traveler who attempt that trick. A discount of only 5$ per day couldn’t make you rent a car for a week yet you needed it for only three days.
