The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has officially announced revised car parking charges at Entebbe International Airport, set to take effect from November 1, 2024. These changes, made public through UCAA’s social media platforms, are part of an ongoing effort to upgrade the airport’s facilities and enhance the passenger experience. The current parking rates have been in place for over a decade, since October 2009.
New Parking Rates Overview
Short-Stay Parking:
- Saloon cars and station wagons: UGX 5,000 for the first hour.
- Vans and minibuses: UGX 8,000 for the first hour.
- Lorries, trailers, trucks, and buses: UGX 10,000 for the first hour.
- Each additional hour: UGX 1,000 for all vehicle types.
Long-Term Parking:
- First-day charge: UGX 30,000.
- Additional days: UGX 10,000 per day.
- Extended stay beyond 30 days: UGX 200,000 per day, intended to deter overly long parking periods.
While long-term parking is available, the UCAA advises against exceeding 30 days in the facility, with much higher charges applied thereafter to discourage extended stays.

These new rates reflect the UCAA’s commitment to improving the airport’s infrastructure and services. The additional revenue from parking fees will help fund upgrades to the airport’s parking facilities and ensure the airport can maintain its standards amid increasing air traffic and passenger numbers.
